BRITONS are not convinced that mankind has caused global warming, three leading climate scientists admitted yesterday.

In the wake of the scandal at the University of East Anglia, they conceded there were “uncertainties” about the science, but said the evidence was still overwhelming.

Last year, leaked emails from the university’s climate research unit appeared to show that scientists had changed statistics to strengthen their case.

But yesterday Professors Julia Slingo, Brian Hoskins and Alan Thorpe spoke out after weeks of controversy concerning the accuracy of the evidence.

Professor Slingo, chief scientist at the Met Office, said: “We have a real issue about communicating science in a clear way which the public can understand and we haven’t done that very well.”

She said the impact on temperature of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, or CO2, had been known about since the 19th century. The link was “straightforward fundamental physics”, she said, while other data – from rises in sea level to retreating glaciers – also showed the climate was changing.

Professor Thorpe, head of the Natural Environment Research Council, said that in the wake of the recent controversy there was a need for researchers to engage more openly with the public.

He added: “We have to have discussions with everybody, with the public, whether they call themselves sceptics or not.” He said he would like to see sceptics using properly reviewed scientific studies to back their views rather than “hearsay and assumptions”.

“It’s not a matter of belief, it’s about the evidence,” Prof Thorpe said.

Prof Hoskins, of the Grantham Institute of Climate Change at Imperial College London and a member of the Government’s Committee on Climate Change, acknowledged there had been mistakes in the committee’s report, but said it did not undermine the case for global warming.

"There’s an audience out there that says: ‘I hope this isn’t the case’ and is eager to hear it’s not,” he said.

But he insisted: “This isn’t a question of belief. This is fact – and there’s emerging evidence it is increasing.”

Prince Charles yesterday rejected evidence that climate change was a myth. During a speech in Manchester, he asked: “Why is it that sea levels are more than six inches higher than they were 100 years ago? This isn’t an opinion – it is a fact.”

When you keep crying wolf this is what happens, lies after lies who wants to believe you anymore. No real science from you just incomplete computer modles to show alarms, bells and whistles.
Also when you believe in so much of what you follow there is a problem. I get the fealing this will take decades to undo the damage of this fraud science. Sounds like what the troops are up against in Afghanistan! It will take generations to educate and undo the damage there if not longer.

"no one believes us..."

They just picked up on that? It took 10 years? JHC.

"Ripafartfoundat ion.org" endorses increasing your carbon footprint.

I love the way Slingo just slings physics that does not exist! There has never been "straightforward fundamental physics" implicating CO2. In the 19th century Arrhenius wondered, conjectured, hypothesized about CO2 and climate . Nothing has ever been proven. It was this old conjecture that was latched onto and cultivated, ignoring that apparent correlation does not mean causation, into a crisis.

I found a graph recently that even shows that as atmospheric temperatures (NCDC) change, the rate of growth of CO2 (NOAA) varies - oh, and there is a definite lag for CO2! Cool! That makes CO2 known to lag in all time frames!

Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas so if two planets were identical in every way but one had an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and the other had an atmosphere of nitrogen, the one with carbon dioxide would be much warmer. But on Earth, there is a large complicating factor, namely the huge amount of liquid water in clouds and water vapor in the atmosphere. Water is the largest greenhouse gas and the big unanswered question seems to be how much additional affect carbon dioxide has after the water is taken into account. The following web site seems to suggest carbon dioxide plays virtually no additional role:
www.john-daly.com/barker/index.htm
After analyzing the data and noticing very little difference due to CO2, this web site has the following quote:
"This may especially be the case if there is any overlap between the absorption bands of water vapor and CO2. In this scenario, because all the energy in the bands is absorbed, further increases in CO2 will have no additional greenhouse effect. The implication would be that the pre-industrial concentrations of atmospheric CO2 were already close to saturation (total absorption) levels."

Global warming is a big lie being used by the UN and the one worlders as well as the eco-wacko pagans to control our lives and return us to a pagan bunch of earth worshipping radicals

The earth has always had climate change. It is natural. In most places on earth, there is climate change four times a year. Climate change is a beautiful natural part of the climatic system. But who would have guessed that you could create a scheme to make billions of dollars by selling a thing called a carbon credit. Imagine making money out of thin air. Gota hand it to these people. Very smart. Convience people that man is the problem, and then tax the living crap out of him. Yet the climate will keep doing what it naturally does, Change. How much has Al Gore in for? Didn't he invent the internet? Slick very smooth. Too bad the people are waking up out of their deep sleep. It was all just a fantasy that almost became a taxable nightmare. Just think, their could have been garbage can police, carbon credits, kids spying on neighbors. But at least we all now know that the science is a hoax and we need not worry about climate change anymore. It is time to return all the money that was involved in this hoax. Wow, it feels good to know the climate is fine and that people will not be forced to but a carbon credit. It could have been a real bad nightmare. Relax it is alright.
