Scientists Challenge UK Govt Climate Committee to 'Drop flawed
science and the Climate Change millstone - Save the economy'. CO2 is
the Gas Of Life ('GOL'), it is not a problem
The recommendation that the UK cut its greenhouse gas emissions by at
least 80 per cent* is "total madness based on false science" said Piers
Corbyn of WeatherAction long range forecasters.
"There is no evidence that Carbon dioxide has ever controlled, is
controlling or will ever control world temperatures or climate and I challenge the promoters of this nonsense to produce evidence to justify their policies - or drop them, just as 13 world scientists** have similarly challenged the UN.

L.A., land of fire -- always
The wildfires burning in Southern California have been a natural event throughout history.
Eight thousand years ago, the Tongva and Tataviam peoples, who made
their homes in what we now call the Los Angeles Basin and the San
Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, did exactly what many of us have been
doing for the last few days: They inhaled the bone-dry air of a
wind-scoured fall afternoon and watched the hillsides above them burn.
The
smoky conflagrations they witnessed -- more than 5 millenniums before
the first European sailed up the California coast -- were, even then,
an annual ritual of nature so ancient and reliable that it had set its
evolutionary stamp on the chaparral itself, giving rise to species of
plants whose seeds require the heat of wildfires to germinate.

People, not just politicians, pay a lot of lipservice to clean energy. Are they serious?
Take California’s three-year running battle over proposed new transmission lines to
carry more renewable energy to the San Diego area. The route proposed
by the utility, San Diego Gas & Electric, would go through a
national park—which has sparked plenty of opposition by
environmentalists and local residents.
Where do things stand? The environment seems to be trumping energy, according to the draft conclusions just
published by the California Public Utility Commission. Far from
endorsing SDG&E’s transmission plan, California officials say the “environmentally superior” alternative
would be to build five new fossil-fuel power plants at “already
disturbed sites”; SDG&E’s proposals are at the bottom of the
commission’s list of eight viable alternatives.

Rajendra Pachauri, right, chairman of the IPCC
Let's take a trip back to 1980. Ronald Reagan was just elected President, Democrats were still shell-shocked an actor had won, and Republicans loomed large in the media and could hold their heads high. This was the start of the Dynasty decade, one of consumption, credit card binges, parties, and finding out who shot J.R.
Unbeknownst to the American people, the media, and most of the world, a crisis was lurking. A crisis of pandemic proportions that on December 1, 1981, was beginning to rear its ugly head. Few scientists understood it, and those that did spoke up every chance they could to warn the public that this was only the tip of the iceberg.
Those few scientists hung tough, continued to study the problem and, in 1983, were vindicated: a virus was likely causing AIDS, but no one knew how.

With so much attention on the proclaimed “climate crisis” prevalent
in the mainstream media today, it’s difficult to determine the facts
from the hysteria. Add NASA scientist James Hansen and politicians
with deep pockets like Al Gore into the mix, and global warming
hysteria has become the shot heard around the world.
Fear-mongering
and inexact science have become the rule rather than the exception, but
many folks like you, me and author Paul Spite remain skeptical of
man-made climate change. I recently had an opportunity to interview
Paul about his book, A Climate Crisis a la Gore: The real profit pushing the perception of manmade global warming. In this two-part series, I’ll post the 10 questions I presented to Paul as well as his responses.
As a special bonus to readers of Skeptics Global Warming, Paul has graciously agreed to give away a free signed copy of his book, A
Climate Crisis A La Gore, to one lucky person. To enter yourself in
the random drawing, simply leave a comment at the end of this week’s or
next week’s article.
One random commenter will be chosen on Tuesday, November 4th. Leave as many comments as you wish and each will be counted as an entry.

NASCAR may have conquered the U.S.A., but U.K.-based Formula One is
still the world’s motorsports king. And like all auto-related endeavors
these days — particularly those based in righteously green Europe — the
sport is under intense pressure from environmentalists to repent for
its sins.
Last weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix brought one of
those familiar, cringe-inducing moments when a Green-targeted
“environmental criminal” grovels before its accusers. To much fanfare,
F1’s organizers decided to shod the world’s premier race cars with
green-grooved, Bridgestone tires to symbolize its commitment to the planet. The starting grid of 20 cars looked absurdly like too-big toys sitting on spearmint-striped candies.
“We
hope the launch of the ‘Make Cars Green’ tire will draw public
attention to the many environmental initiatives in and around Formula
One,” Bridgestone CEO Shoshi Arakawa announced.
