Why not spend $700 billion for solar, for efficiency, for conservation? Why not?
—California Attorney General Jerry Brown, speaking at the West Coast Green conference, alluding to the $700 billion bailout package being negotiated in Washington, D.C.
Brown's speech preceded Al Gore's, who also said the climate crisis should get the 'same type of attention and money from Washington that the financial meltdown is getting.' Obama has made it clear that there will be a place at the table for Gore if he's elected president.
