A lot of space in this column in the past couple of years has been devoted to scientists opposed to the global warming theory. You can often (but not always) tell when you're being snookered by the media when they attempt to stampede us into believing there's danger ahead, and we must change our lifestyles to prevent it (but somehow they cannot find anyone with proper scientific credentials who disagree with the politically correct notions they dredge up).

There are news people out there who cry wolf when there is no wolf. Of course as the fairy tale goes, they cried wolf once too often, and no one believed them because there were so many false alarms. Then a real wolf arrived, and killed people.

The Hadley Center monitors climate change for the government, and they have data showing a sharp drop in temperatures in the past year. China had its coldest winter in 50 years, while here in North America; we've had some of the heaviest snow cover in 50 years. We had heavy snows here in Paradise, and you can still see snow on the Coast Range, unusual except for the highest elevations at this time of year.
