First
of all, their pseudo-science. They start from the real truth that the
earth is heating up and use some valid geological science that shows
that in the past when the earth heated up, the carbon dioxide
concentrations also rose. The problem is that they have no proof from
the geological record to show that the carbon dioxide went up first and
is therefore the cause of the rise in temperature. They performed a few
closed system gas chamber lab experiments that they claim as proof, but
the faults in the experiments are that it was a closed system, so it
doesn’t allow for the natural absorption of carbon dioxide by the
earth’s vegetation and in order to get the kind of temperature
increased recorded in the fossil record, they have to use carbon
dioxide concentrations that would be lethal to most animal life.
However, they refused to acknowledge that while the historical and
archeological record shows a cyclic pattern of planetary heating and
cooling, it doesn’t record a corresponding cycle of carbon dioxide
levels high enough to cause mass extinctions.
The
next problem is that they took the closed system data and made a
computer model, in which they started from the assumption that all of
the increased carbon dioxide was the result of human activity. This
completely ignores the contribution from 15 to 18 major volcanic
eruptions (three of which are currently ongoing), during the last 100
years. This is up from the 10 to12 of the previous 100 years. Each of
those volcanoes is putting out, as much carbon dioxide every 24 hours,
as the whole of America puts out in one year, making the human
contribution to the carbon dioxide increase mathematically minute.
The
final flaw in their science is that when confronted with the fact that
the earth is actually warming up faster than the computer model
predicted, (and faster than the real carbon dioxide levels would
predict using the model) they have continued to ignore the naturally
occurring carbon dioxide and are now busy searching for some other man
made ‘green house gas’. Right now, they are concentrating on methane
but again they are ignoring the naturally occurring sources, primarily
again volcanoes and all the ruminate animals (cows). For me, the very
fact that they are obsessed with finding proof that all the ‘green
house gases’ are man made, shows there is a bias in their thinking. Read rest...
